#3 Black Rabbit

It wasn’t that long ago that going vegan meant having to give up buttery treats. Not anymore, not if establishments like Black Rabbit can help it. The vegan coffee house and deli in Edinburgh has been winning over crowds, vegan and otherwise, with its freshly made bakes like cruffins, scones, cupcakes and a slew of toothsome savoury pastries. It also has a small selection of cheese for you to take home, or pre-order for Christmas.

But that’s not to say its selection is only for taking away. It has a dine-in cafe menu which offers brunch essentials. The Tofu Benedict, where a grilled slab of tofu is served on an open morning roll and slathered with homemade hollandaise sauce, has fans on our platform. @katelouisepowell says, “This was truly incredible — the tofu was grilled to perfection and cut nice and thick, the bacon was salty and tasty, the roll was toasted, the sauce was delicious! Can’t wait to eat this again.”

The Nae Egg & Cress Sandwich too has rave reviews. “Thick slices of sourdough packed full of moist and flavoursome tofu which honestly could've been egg for all I could tell!” says user @megmog. “Spiced delicately to perfect the flavour, a mighty sandwich really.”
